Coordinate the plan of care and act as a liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals, and schedulers to coordinate testing, scheduling, referrals, etc. Minimum Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi‑state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Experience Two years’ experience as an RN OR five years’ experience as an LPN required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN). Certification relevant to the specialized care they will be providing. Core Duties and Responsibilities Provide hands‑on assistance according to the department, patient, and provider needs, including but not limited to assisting with procedures, performing tests, preparing or administering patient medications, and obtaining specimens. Act as first contact for patients, providing triage and medical advice where applicable. Coordinate the plan of care and act as a liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals, and schedulers to coordinate testing, scheduling, referrals, etc. Monitor and manage patient appointments, testing, and labs necessary for the patient population. Assist with obtaining prior authorizations for the patient population. Prepare educational material for patient use; educate and counsel patients concerning medical condition, medication, or treatment. Provide specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable. Provide advice, education, and consultation services to nursing staff of any unit that cares for the same patient population. Attend conferences or educational opportunities to ensure up‑to‑date knowledge. Physical Requirements Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, positioning of patients, standing, walking, carrying of patients, materials and equipment weighing 35 +lbs. Working Environment Position is frequently exposed to blood and bodily fluids; possible exposure to harmful toxins. There is regular exposure to communicable disease. Travel may be necessary in departments with multiple locations.
