Registered Nurse - Stroke Telemetry Unit

The Registered Nurse will join a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. The unit focuses on delivering evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong emphasis on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments including the NIH Stroke Scale.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in real time.
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures such as dysphagia screening, education, and care plans.
• Administer medications using BCMA standards focused on safety and accuracy.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy, and case management.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment.
• Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arriving at the facility.
• Current registered nurse license in the state of practice.
• Documentation verification required for onboarding.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
