Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse at a leading acute care facility in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This role is situated on the Ground Floor PACU, where you will provide specialized care to patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures.

The unit manages a diverse patient population undergoing high-acuity cases including Thoracic, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Urology, and General surgery. As a PACU RN, you will be instrumental in monitoring, assessing, and stabilizing patients immediately post-anesthesia.

Operating 24/7, the unit is overseen by a Charge Nurse and Supervisor, ensuring comprehensive support for patient care. This position requires a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and manage pain effectively in the immediate post-operative phase.
• Identify and respond to emergent complications, including airway management and hemodynamic instability.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery expectations.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM.
• Shift Duration: 12.5 hours per shift, 3 days per week.
• Call Requirements: Holiday call is required.
• Weekend Rotation: Not specified.
• Holiday Expectations: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
• Assignment Dates: September 28, 2026 - January 2, 2027 (14-week contract).
