Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is hiring a Maintenance Technician for one of our clients in the Columbus, Ohio area. This individual will be responsible for supporting the overall maintenance and upkeep of facility buildings, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and experience across multiple maintenance disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment

- Assist with HVAC systems, including filter changes, motor maintenance, and general upkeep

- Monitor and adjust building temperatures as needed

- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure a safe working environment

Electrical, Plumbing & General Repairs

- Conduct basic electrical work, including replacing switches, fuses, and wiring components while adhering to code requirements

- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues such as clogged drains and fixture replacements

- Identify and report safety concerns or potentially hazardous conditions

Carpentry & Painting

- Repair or replace drywall, plaster, and wallboard

- Paint walls, ceilings, and trim as needed

Assembly & Projects

- Assemble furniture and equipment such as shelves, tables, and workstations

- Support facility projects and provide supply/material recommendations

Team Collaboration

- Work closely with internal staff to maintain a respectful, team-oriented environment

- Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and visitors

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a facility, residential, or similar setting preferred

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment

- Basic knowledge of office and maintenance-related equipment

- Valid driver’s license required

- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods

- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including exposure to weather and mechanical systems
