The Woodcock Institute supports interdisciplinary researchinto the cognitive profiles of individuals with diagnosed exceptionalities(e.g., learning disabilities, neuropsychological conditions, behavioral andpsychiatric disorders, and giftedness). In addition, the Woodcock Institutesupports the advancement of effective clinical assessment practices and thedissemination of research findings through direct professional developmentopportunities, publications and applied evidence-based assessment. In support ofthis mission, the Woodcock Institute is excited to announce the Richard W.Woodcock Pediatric Psychology Fellowship Post-Doc Program with emphasis inNeurodevelopmental Disabilities. The Woodcock Institute is seeking one full-time psychology postdoctoralfellow for a 2 year appointment. Primary clinical activities includeneurodevelopmental assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), LearningDisabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, emotional and behavioraldisorders, as well as other low incident developmental disabilities throughinterdisciplinary work at the TWU multidisciplinary clinic and in collaborationwith a community based partnership. In addition, fellows will participate inindividual and small group therapeutic intervention services, engage in ongoingneurocognitive research, presentation and publication opportunities, and areprovided mentorship possibilities with psychology practicum students. Theschedule will include 2 days a week at the Woodcock Center for Autism andNeurodevelopment at Texas Woman’s University (WeCAN), and then 3 days a week atthe community-based partnership in clinical neuropsychology private practicegaining experience in pediatric and adult assessment, intervention planning, andtreatment. In consultation with primary supervisors at each setting, fellowswill develop a tailored plan to address their specific training goals withinthese settings. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background inpediatric neuropsychological, cognitive, academic, and social/emotionalassessment, as well as in the application of multidisciplinary diagnosticevaluations and evidence-based intervention approaches for individuals with avariety of neurodevelopmental disorders. The postdoctoral fellow will beexpected to work well with families and effectively collaborate with members ofan interdisciplinary team. In addition to applied practice, this fellowship willprovide opportunities for research. Fellows can participate in on-going researchon site and in collaboration with Texas Woman’s University and the WoodcockInstitute. Fellows may develop individual research goals with the TrainingDirector during orientation for data collection, presentations, and publicationsthroughout the fellowship program.
