Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Florida hospital surgical unit, requiring 2+ years acute care OR experience and Meditech proficiency.

Details

Surgery unit with 20 operating rooms and a staff of approximately 110

Team includes Director, Manager, Charge RNs, OR Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs

Day shift staffed with 18 teams of RNs and surgical techs, night shift with 2 teams plus 1 on-call team

1:1 patient ratio

Uses sterile accessories, circulators, sponges, gowning, gloving, tubing, and cords

Meditech documentation system required

Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Call requirements include 2 weekend shifts (8hrs), 4 evening shifts (4hrs), and 1 overnight shift (8hrs) per month

Must be willing to float among different OR specialties

Requirements

Active FL or Compact RN license required

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years current experience in an acute hospital setting (not a surgical center) required

Strong ortho, neuro, and robotics experience required

Meditech documentation experience required

Experience with robotics/Da Vinci, SP, DV5, Mako, Stealth (Neuro), burn cases, cysto fluid management, GI tower system, endo, laparoscopic equipment, ENT, Eye, and Trauma 1 peds and adults preferred

US SSN and DOB required for consideration

No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

Prepare operating rooms, arrange equipment, and assist surgeons during procedures

Maintain a 30-minute turnaround time between cases

Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment and maintain inventory records

Perform pre- and post-surgical duties including shaving, transporting patients, and applying dressings

Facility is a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with American Heart Gold Plus Achievement Award

428-bed facility

Ciel blue scrubs are provided; candidates must bring their own lock and working shoes

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
