We invite you to join our team as a Power Scholars P/T Sr. Group Leader. Position: Power Scholars P/T Sr. Group Leader – Salary: $20.00 per hour Location: Seaton Elementary School (K-PreK3-PreK4) Job Summary: Assist the Pre-School Site Director with daily operations, planning, development, and implementation of the YMCA Power Scholars Pre-School curriculum. Oversee program activities, communicate with families, and ensure availability of equipment and supplies. Key Responsibilities: Implement the program in accordance with YMCA goals and the School Age Curriculum. Effectively carry out lesson plans. Establish structure and routines for children, set boundaries, and behavior guidelines. Ensure safety of children at all times and implement emergency procedures as needed. Attend parent/child events as required. Effectively communicate with parents throughout the program year. Maintain an attractive and clean classroom. Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Qualifications: At least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED; obtain CDA within 18 months of employment. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Documentation of physical examination and TB skin test. Clear local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting. Meet county/state licensing requirements. Ability to relate to parents, school staff, and children with a positive, creative attitude. Working Conditions: Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. Physical activity required, including playing games and sports with children. Ability to pick up at least 35 pounds. Visual acuity to observe all children.
