Payroll Specialist

Part-Time Payroll SpecialistVolt is immediately hiring for Part-Time Payroll Specialist (3 days a week M, T, & F) for a company located in Riverside, CA.Job DescriptionAs a Payroll Specialist you will:Answer employee questions, monitor task progress, and verify completion of payroll related activities.Process weekly payroll for 600+ employees with accuracy and timeliness.Audit, verify, and summarize employee timesheets.Enter payroll data accurately into the payroll system.Maintain working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.Process checks and direct deposits.Provide backup phone coverage as needed.Assist with timesheet and budget audits.Complete assigned projects and administrative tasks.Identify cost saving opportunities and recommend workflow improvements.Required Skills & QualificationHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum one year of payroll experience is preferred.Bilingual communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, including new hires.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to perform basic math functions: whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages; proficient with 10 key.Team oriented, proactive, adaptable work ethic with strong attention to detail.Preferred Skills & Qualifications1+ year of payroll experience preferredBilingual communication skillsStrong data entry and payroll processing skillsKnowledge of payroll laws and regulationsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesTeam player with a proactive and adaptable work ethicStrong customer service and employee support skillsBasic math and 10-key calculator proficiencySchedule: Days: Monday & Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Tuesday 7:00AM - 3:30PMPay Rate: $21.00 -23.00 per hour DOE*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.Benefits: Volt offers benefits (based on eligibility) that include the following: health, dental, vision, term life, short term disability, AD&D, 401(k), Sick time, and other types of paid leaves (as required by law), Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits any kind of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
