RN - Med Surg

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med/Surg Nurse to provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients utilizing scientific nursing principles. This role includes a range of responsibilities focused on patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications, recording administration accurately.
• Report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments in line with nursing policies.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.
• Accurately record patient medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions for patients displaying adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Implement patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as required.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Utilize effective time management skills.
• Record all care information concisely and accurately in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned based on the specific assignment setting.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license (WY or multi-state) required.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification required (must be current and through the American Heart Association).
• Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
