Summer Camp - Youth Facilitator I

What does the Youth Facilitator I do:Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.Comply with all Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies to protect the confidentiality of individual health information.Research new materials and instructional methods to keep activities relevant and engaging.Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with program objectives.Coordinate programming and activities with school personnel or site staff as needed.Administer and assess pre-and-post evaluations to measure participant progress.Identify and build upon participants’ strengths through tailored activities.Prepare and distribute instructional materials for daily activities.Teach and reinforce conflict resolution and positive group interactions.Create and facilitate leadership development activities.Effectively manage groups to optimize engagement and learning.Review and provide feedback on assignments and projects.Document individual progress and maintain accurate records on a daily/weekly basis.Participate in progress meetings and conferences with families and staff.Attend administrative and staff meetings as scheduled.Submit all required reports, including weekly, monthly, and end-of-term evaluations.Tasks may be modified, expanded, and/or assigned over time to meet program needs.Minimum Education, Experiences and Skills Required:High School Diploma and one year experience working with children under the age of 13 years old (including participating in at least 3 field trips)OTHER REQUIREMENTS:All Programs:Must obtain medical exam certifying good health dated within 2 years of start of camp;Must provide 2 references; 1 character and 1 professional referenceAbility to maintain NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services Sex Offender Registry clearanceAbility to adapt to the culture and environment of programAbility and willingness to participate in field trips, requiring dealing with outdoor weather conditions during working hours.Summer Rising Only:Must obtain Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance;Job Specific Competencies:Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.CAMBA’S Specific Competencies:Organization:Flexibility and adaptability to changes in work environmentAttendance and punctuality.Collect and submit program documents and reports.Organizes and schedules people and tasks effectively.Confidentiality:Remains sensitive to issues and maintains confidentiality, neutrality and objectivity as appropriate.Minimal Training: Six (6) month orientation period.Working Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
