Position Summary

The Service Supervisor assists in leading front-end operations and customer service activities to ensure a positive shopping experience and efficient store performance. This position provides direct supervision of front-end associates, supports operational execution, promotes customer satisfaction, and helps maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and cash handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service Leadership

• Deliver and promote exceptional customer service throughout the store.
• Serve as a primary resource for resolving customer concerns and service recovery situations.
• Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and professional assistance.
• Support a customer-focused culture by modeling outstanding service behaviors.

Front-End Operations

• Supervise daily front-end operations, including checkout lanes, self-checkout areas, courtesy clerk functions, and service desk activities.
• Monitor customer flow and adjust staffing to maintain efficient service levels.
• Ensure proper execution of front-end procedures, company policies, and operational standards.
• Assist with opening, closing, and cash accountability procedures.
• Support labor deployment to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership and Development

• Provide direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates.
• Assist with training new employees on operational procedures and customer service expectations.
• Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Monitor associate performance and provide feedback to improve results.
• Help coordinate daily workloads and assignments.

Cash Handling and Compliance

• Verify adherence to cash handling procedures and register accountability requirements.
• Assist with audits, till reconciliation, and operational controls.
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding refunds, exchanges, and service transactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of company assets and information.

Store Standards and Operations

• Help maintain clean, organized, and customer-ready conditions throughout the store.
• Support execution of company programs, promotions, and merchandising initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining accurate signage and pricing standards.
• Monitor operational conditions and communicate opportunities for improvement.

Safety and Loss Prevention

• Promote a safe environment for customers and associates.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, emergency procedures, and loss prevention initiatives.
• Identify and report safety hazards or security concerns.
• Support accident prevention and incident reporting processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail, grocery, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop associates.
• Basic computer, cash handling, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when needed.
• Ability to work in varying store environments and conditions.
• Ability to safely operate equipment associated with front-end and customer service operations.
