HVAC Technician

High Peaks Plumbing & Heating is seeking a reliable, experienced HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This role includes diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and light-commercial heating and cooling systems.

• Diagnose and repair furnaces, boilers, AC systems, heat pumps, mini-splits, and hydronic systems.
• Perform maintenance, cleanings, combustion testing, and efficiency tune-ups.
• Install furnaces, boilers, air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, mini-splits, thermostats, controls, and accessories.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, evacuation, brazing, leak testing, and diagnostics.
• Complete hydronic and condensate piping, electrical and low-voltage wiring, and basic ductwork modifications.
• Perform system startup, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, combustion, refrigerant, and control issues.
• Document work, photos, findings, and recommendations accurately.
• Clearly explain repair options and recommendations to customers.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and work areas professionally.

• Minimum 2 years HVAC service/install experience or equivalent technical training.
• Valid EPA Section 608 Certification.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and combustion knowledge.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoors.
• Professional, dependable, organized, and able to work independently.

Experience with boilers, hydronics, heat pumps, mini-splits, inverter systems, and digital diagnostic tools is preferred.
