Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry Unit. This unit consists of 37 beds and requires staffing ratios of 1:9 for all shifts. Candidates should be comfortable floating to other medical/surgical units as needed and must be willing to provide weekend coverage as part of the schedule, either every other weekend or four weekend shifts per month.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using team-based approaches with interdisciplinary support.
• Monitor patients diagnosed with diseases of the respiratory, cardiac, GI, and neuro systems, along with potential orthopedic overflow cases.
• Utilize knowledge of telemetry to provide effective patient care.
• Administer required medications and manage IV lines, including heart drips and telemetry monitoring.
• Perform regular assessments and manage care for an elderly patient population.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Active New York RN license required in hand to submit.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
