Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSenior Environmental Compliance Engineer / ScientistLocation: Altamonte Springs / Orlando, FloridaEmployment Type: Full-TimeAn established environmental consulting and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Engineer or Scientist to join its Orlando-area office. This senior-level role is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and consulting within industrial and commercial sectors.The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, regulatory guidance, project management, and client support across a variety of environmental compliance and permitting initiatives. This position also offers opportunities to contribute to business development and strategic environmental planning efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review environmental permit applications, compliance certifications, and emissions reportsProvide senior technical oversight and mentorship to engineering and environmental staffManage environmental compliance and permitting projects from initiation through completionDevelop and evaluate Remedial Action Plans related to petroleum underground storage tank (UST) cleanupsSupport clients in maintaining compliance with federal and state environmental regulationsCoordinate with regulatory agencies regarding permitting, inspections, and compliance mattersConduct site visits, investigations, and field data collection activitiesPerform environmental calculations and technical analyses using accepted methodologiesLead proposal preparation and support business development initiativesDevelop environmental guidance documents, compliance strategies, and regulatory recommendationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical fieldCurrent Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred10–20 years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, consulting, or related disciplinesStrong knowledge of EPA regulations and environmental compliance frameworksFamiliarity with Florida environmental regulations requiredExperience with regulations in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and/or Louisiana is a plusAir compliance and permitting expertise strongly preferredFamiliarity with Florida PRP UST programs is a plusExcellent project management, technical writing, and client communication skillsStrong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including ExcelAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environmentDesired AttributesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsClient-focused mindset with strong relationship management abilitiesProven leadership and mentoring capabilitiesBusiness development and proposal experience preferredWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to join a respected environmental consulting team working on impactful regulatory and compliance projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.
