Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge. You will operate various ventilatory equipment and devices, perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring, and assist in procedures related to respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and establish treatment plans.
• Operate ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices to administer medications and facilitate ventilation and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Conduct oximetry, capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with procedures like bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Perform arterial punctures and assess ventilation efficiency.
• Document treatments and patient responses, communicating effectively with physicians.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and billing.
• Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as per guidelines.

Required Experience

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist licensure as required by state regulations. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
