Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as mandatory competencies required for all RNs in this setting
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Administer blood products and provide central line care and management
• Manage patients presenting with CVA and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, adhering to isolation precautions as required
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with procedural sedation administration and management of CVA patients
• Familiarity with block scheduling environments
• Minimal time-off requests preferred during assignment
