Non CDL Delivery Driver

Overview The Non‑CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900 pounds. The driver will be assigned stops to deliver foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience is preferred but not required. All functions must be completed safely and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Shift Schedule Monday – Saturday: 6:00AM start. Monday – Friday: end shift at 2:00PM or until finished. Saturday: end shift at 12:00PM or until finished. Responsibilities Lift up to 50lbs. frequently and up to 100lbs. occasionally. Load and unload the vehicle for multi‑stop deliveries. Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles. Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle to the customer location, including going up and down stairs as necessary. Accurately record delivery information using a hand scanner and all company‑required documentation. Maintain proper documentation and disposition for any returned product. Communicate delivery/customer issues to the appropriate authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor). Deliver product to each designated stop following the sequence provided for the day. Unload product safely and stage it in the space(s) designated by the customer. Check invoices for complete delivery and process paperwork and any damaged merchandise. Collect payments if necessary. Monitor the refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently for safety; follow all safe food‑handling procedures. Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required. No more than two convictions in the past two‑year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years. Must be able to pass a DOT physical. One year of multi‑stop delivery experience preferred or six months of local delivery experience and/or experience in the foodservice industry. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities. Good interpersonal and customer‑service skills. Physical ability to perform the listed lifting and bending tasks. Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime as required to service customers. Physical Requirements Work includes climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs. consistently and 100lbs. occasionally. Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve extreme weather conditions. The job requires standing, walking, driving, and sitting frequently and the ability to push/pull hand truck, climb/stairs, and carry items ranging from 1lb. to 100lb. occasionally.
