A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist in Helotes, TX, with a schedule from 12 PM to 8 PM. This role focuses on delivering specialized pharmacy services for patients requiring home infusion therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ eligibility for home infusion therapy and develop personalized medication plans.
- Monitor and adjust therapy based on clinical assessments, laboratory data, and pharmacokinetics.
- Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications according to USP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use, infusion administration, and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Manage infusion devices, maintaining quality assurance and medication safety protocols.
- Provide accurate drug information, maintain thorough documentation, and support compliance with pharmacy regulations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
- One or more of the following:• Minimum 1 year sterile IV compounding experience,• Experience in non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM),• Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency,• Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE),• Equivalent pharmacy experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
- Proficiency in interpreting laboratory values and applying pharmacokinetic principles.
- Exceptional communication, patient counseling, and customer service skills.
