In this role the manager will work closely with the engineering team and with sales management to increase engineering engagement in the sales process. Working with marketing, this person will work to convey strong technical competency by demonstrating our technical value through white papers, video walkthroughs, and technical training.Essential FunctionsReports to: Director of EngineeringCollaborates with: Materials Team, Sales Team, Engineering Team, Operations Team, Executive TeamKey Responsibilities:Periodically travel to different branches to do joint sales calls with the application team and work on application sales tacticsTrack and monitor partner certification requirements and make they are met on a quarterly basisProvide plan's for when changes to the team require you to catch up on certificationsDefine a tracking and reporting method for utilization on application engineering supported sales callsCollaborate with marketing to drive SIPEC initiatives across the organizationDefine and drive generation of white papers and technical videos of core productsKey Competencies & Skills:Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical designs of automation and control systemsExtensive experience in automation application field salesMaintain a strong work ethic and capacity to thrive in a team environmentExcel in both verbal and written communicationsEffectively and efficiently use Microsoft software (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and business software used by the companyKnowledge of ERP, CRM, and QMS systemsExperience, Education and SkillsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited University or Equivalent Experience.Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering or related field. 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
