Development Services Plan Reviewer (Part Time)

Employment Opportunities The Village of Oak Brook Development Services Department is hiring for the position of Plan Reviewer (part‑time position). Reporting to the Chief Building Official, the Plan Reviewer is responsible for review and examination of building plans and specifications for compliance with applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations. This position is public facing, with support also being provided to the Development Services Department staff in providing information and assistance to residents, contractors, and other employees. The successful candidate will have sound and thorough knowledge of Village codes and ordinances in addition to knowledge of principles and practices of building construction. Knowledge of building, plumbing, mechanical, gas, and electrical codes is required. The ability to interpret technical designs and blueprints, and to enforce codes is required. Skills should include troubleshooting, problem solving, and excellent communication. Hourly pay range is $35.98 to $48.49 per hour with the anticipated hiring rate no higher than the mid‑point of the range, depending on qualifications. This part‑time position is IMRF eligible and is expected to work 24 hours weekly. Position open until filled.
