Security Specialist

Fibertek is seeking a Security Specialist (CSSO/GSSO) to support classified government programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The successful candidate will oversee security operations within classified environments, ensuring compliance with Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and customer security requirements. This position serves as a key liaison between program personnel and government security offices while supporting secure facilities, personnel security processes, classified material management, and SCIF operations. The Security Specialist will help ensure mission success through effective security administration, regulatory compliance, and proactive risk management. Essential Job Duties Manage daily security operations for classified environments and secure facilities. Ensure compliance with applicable DoD, Intelligence Community, DCSA, and customer security requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact with government security officials to resolve security issues and maintain program compliance. Support SCIF operations and accreditation requirements in accordance with ICD 705 standards. Conduct SCI, SAP, indoctrination, debriefing, and foreign travel briefings. Manage personnel security actions including visit requests, clearance verification, access determinations, and security records maintenance. Maintain accountability and control of classified materials including storage, transmission, reproduction, and destruction. Operate and monitor physical security systems including access control and surveillance systems. Conduct security self-inspections, internal assessments, and vulnerability reviews. Support government inspections, audits, and accreditation activities. Coordinate classified meetings, visitor control procedures, and secure facility access. Maintain accurate security documentation, logs, reports, and personnel records. Utilize government security systems including DISS, NISS, PSIP, JADE, SCATTERCASTLES, or equivalent systems. Investigate, document, and report security incidents and assist with corrective actions. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of secure program operations. Experience and Expertise Required Strong knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community security policies, procedures, and directives. Working knowledge of personnel, physical, and information security disciplines. Experience supporting classified facilities and secure program environments. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Ability to maintain professional relationships with government customers, security personnel, and program staff. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting security operations in a classified environment. U.S. Citizenship. Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. Experience serving as a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), Government Special Security Officer (GSSO), Special Security Representative (SSR), or Special Security Officer (SSO). Completion of SSO, GSSO, or ICD 705-related training courses. Experience supporting SCIF accreditation and management activities. Experience with DISS, NISS, PSIP, JADE, SCATTERCASTLES, or similar government security systems. Experience supporting Army, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other national security programs. Work is primarily performed in an office, classified facility, or SCIF environment. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and document review. Must be capable of moving throughout secure facilities and accessing controlled areas. May be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security accesses and program eligibility requirements. Salary Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000. This range reflects the compensation Fibertek reasonably expects to offer for this role.
