QUALIFICATIONS :

Masters Degree required Secondary Administrator Certification Administrative experience preferred Public Relations experience preferred Knowledge of issues and practices pertaining to boys and girlsathletics Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Principal SUPERVISES: Coaches and otherathleticstaff. JOB GOALS : Assist in providing overall direction and coordination for the district’sathleticprograms and to be specifically responsible for coordination ofathleticprograms at high school in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child. Work to ensure studentathletesare provided high quality educational experiences being part of any of ourathleticprograms.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

Play a leadership role in assisting the principal in hiring and evaluating allathleticcoaches included as part of the high schoolathleticprograms. Manage the many details associated with the scheduling and function of all high schoolathleticprograms. Participate with the high school administrative team in the successful operation of the high school educational programs. Participate as a school administrative team member in the general supervision of students at high school and specifically, the high schoolathleticevents. Provide or arrange the appropriate supervision forathleticactivities. Participate as a representative on the Iowa City Booster Club and the Liberty LightningAthleticBooster Club Assist the Club parent officers in the direction and management of all parent support activities. Play a leadership role along with the principal in the maintenance and improvement of allathleticfacilities. Work to ensure our studentathletesare provided the best facilities possible in the presentation of our programs. Ensure through theathleticoffice all the eligibility requirements and documentation for appropriateathleticparticipation are kept updated and on file. Ensure all coaches are kept informed of all requirements associated with the IowaAthleticsAssociations and meet all standards set forth by the State of Iowa. Manage in cooperation with the principal all financial details related to theAthleticDepartment as part of the high school educational programs. Play a leadership role in the communication and implementation of the School’s Good Conduct Code with staff, parents, and studentathletes. Other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Twelve Month, 260 day contract. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education. EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
