Partners with healthcare team and assesses, prioritizes and provides care to clinic patient population. Meets specific requirements, goals, and competencies established within the Orthopedic clinic.Primary Location: Greenfield Clinic (3365 S 103rd St., Milwaukee, WI 53227)Other clinics include: Milwaukee Hospital, Delafield, Mequon and/or Kenosha.Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (8 hr shift)No eveningsNo weekendsExperience:1+ years pediatric experience in orthopedics with proven competency in all relevant areas of practice preferredEducation:High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) requiredCourse work in biology or physics preferredAdditional Notes:BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross within 90 Days RequiredCMA-Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants PreferredORTHO-Orthopedic Technician - National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists, Inc. PreferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of orthopedic surgery instruments, orthopedic casting techniques, application of braces, normally acquired through a minimum of one year related experience preferred.Must be able to transfer and ambulate patients, lift orthopedic devices, stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 75 pounds.Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reaches, and squats.Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, patients, parents and staff.Requires flexibility of time and duties in order to work in a fast paced environment.Familiarity with personal computer operations and functions.Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, staff, and leadership.Good analytical ability to observe and communicate problems as they arise.Promotes courteous behavior as outlines in the department's guest relations' guidelines.Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
