About This Role The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are skilled in collaborating with healthcare teams. Highlights Location: Riverhead, NY Facility: Northwell Health Department/Unit: Emergency Department Schedule: Full-Time What You'll Do Assess the patient’s physiologic health status. Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition. Assess level of pain and pain management. Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care. Elicit perception of medical/nursing care from patients. Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes. Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities. Maintain constant vigilance over patient care. Administer medications correctly and safely. Requirements Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty. Licenses & Certifications Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NewYork State required. BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
