REPORTS TO: Director of Operations/Lead Janitor
HOURS: 17.5 Hours a Week 3.5 Hours Daily
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 Month

FUNCTION


The Janitor is to keep assigned areas cleaned to the district standard as to ensure a high state of operating excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Valid Arizona driver's license
2. Sound physical health; punctuality.
3. Ability to adapt to varying assignments and tasks.
4. Ability to work without direct supervision.
5. Ability to relate cordially with others.
6. Background and fingerprint clearance.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate and acceptable.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Dust-mop, sweep, and wet mop hard surface floors
2. Scrub and clean restroom fixtures
3. Vacuum and clean rugs and carpets.
4. Empty trash receptacles.
5. Notify lead janitor of equipment and facility repairs.
6. Perform other duties as directed.

RELATED PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), including pushing, pulling, or moving objects.
2. Stooping, bending, turning, reaching, etc. as necessary in performing duties.
3. Standing/working for extended periods of time.
4. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme heat or cold.
5. Proper handling of hazardous waste materials; prompt response to emergency situations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten-month Working Agreement base on academic calendar. Salary as determined by the Board of Education. Evaluation in accordance with Board policy.
