Survey Party Chief

About The Role Informed Land Survey (ILS) is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field crews on a variety of projects across western Washington. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for both public and private clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive field experience, and a thorough understanding of surveying methods, technology, and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage survey crews in the field on diverse project types Operate and maintain surveying equipment including robotic total stations, GPS systems, and other instruments Perform field data collection, calculations, and construction staking Download, process, and analyze field data using electronic data collection systems and surveying software Ensure accuracy and completeness of field notes, computation sheets, and data files Coordinate workflow and act as the primary point of contact for crew personnel Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and property owners Maintain adherence to safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment Travel to job sites and work in varying outdoor conditions Must be available for occasional overtime as needed Minimum Qualifications At least 2 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and work on military installations Strong knowledge of surveying procedures, standards, and best practices Proficiency with survey field equipment and software What We Offer Competitive wage based on experience Paid vacation Paid Holidays Health insurance - Medical, Vision, and Dental 401(k) retirement plan Opportunities to work on a variety of challenging projects About The Company At Informed Land Survey (ILS), our greatest strength is our people.
