Transfer Admissions Counselor Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Transfer Services, the Transfer Admissions Counselor provides outreach services to prospective transfer students at selected California community colleges, both locally and throughout California. Job Location 1234-K Cheadle Hall Work Schedule 8-5, Monday–Friday. 100% full-time. Hybrid eligibility after completing six months of probation. Travel Requirements Extensive overnight travel between Santa Barbara, San Francisco Bay Area & Los Angeles. Compensation Pay Rate/Range: $28.27 to $35.77/hr. Full salary range: $28.07 to $48.28/hr. Responsibilities Community College Outreach – maintains long‑term UC institutional liaisons with selected community colleges and their students, serves as a general representative of the University of California, provides information on University goals, policies, procedures, and philosophies, offers workshops, and collaborates with admissions staff. Student Advisement and Counseling – represents the University of California to prospective California community college transfer students, their families, counselors, and faculty; maintains contact, advises on admission requirements, tracks progress, provides financial aid information, conducts preliminary evaluations of applications, and supports articulation efforts. Community College Collaboration – conducts in‑service trainings and update meetings with community college counselors and other parties; troubleshoots areas of concern with counseling deans, EOPS directors, and transfer center directors. Program Management and Analysis – conducts basic administrative functions supporting outreach activities and projects, schedules visits, manages outreach calendar, handles correspondence and travel expenses, provides monthly and annual reports, and contributes to long‑term planning. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Preferred: 1–3 years of related work experience. Special Conditions of Employment Funded position for two years. Occasional overtime, weekend, and evening work during peak processing periods (November through May). Hybrid work available on a seasonal basis, subject to Department Head approval. Must comply with mandated reporting requirements of Child Abuse. May require a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and/or enrollment in the California Employer Pull Notice Program. Requires satisfactory criminal history background check.
