Prep Cook

TemPositions is excited to partner with a renowned oceanfront institution in Monterey, California for regular events and similar. We are currently seeking Prep Cooks. In this role, prep cooks will support the kitchen by preparing ingredients, sauces, stocks, and service components used throughout the event. This is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who are confident in prep execution, kitchen organization, and maintaining strong food safety standards in a fast‑paced hospitality setting. Key responsibilities Prepare ingredients, vegetables, fruits, meats, sauces, and stocks Maintain clean, organized prep and storage areas Ensure all items are properly labeled and stored Support the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly Follow food handling and safety procedures at all times Dress code will be provided ahead of the event Ideal candidates will have Prior cook, prep cook, banquet, or event culinary experience Strong knife skills and basic cooking techniques Knowledge of food storage and sanitation standards Reliability, punctuality, and a team‑first attitude Ability to thrive in a high‑volume event environment Attire (Required) WHITE CHEF COAT: full long sleeve, no school or company logos BLACK KITCHEN PANTS: solid black BLACK NON‑SLIP KITCHEN SHOES: spill resistant We are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
