Role Description This full-time Auto Appraiser role is a hybrid position based in Westminster, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting used vehicles in person, assessing condition, mileage, previous damage, and overall marketability, and documenting findings in a clear, standardized format. The Auto Appraiser will research market values, compare vehicles against current wholesale and retail trends, and generate accurate valuations to support purchasing, pricing, and remarketing decisions. The role includes collaborating with acquisition, sales, and logistics teams to prioritize inventory, recommending reconditioning needs, and ensuring that vehicles meet company quality standards. The Auto Appraiser will also use internal systems and digital tools to update records, maintain appraisal accuracy, and communicate findings to management and external partners as needed. Qualifications Strong knowledge of used vehicle condition assessment, including body, mechanical, and interior evaluation, and familiarity with common automotive repair terminology. Ability to research and interpret market data, auction results, and pricing guides to produce accurate and consistent vehicle valuations. Comfort using digital tools and CRM software for data entry, reporting, and communication; ability to maintain detailed, organized documentation. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with acquisition, sales, and logistics teams, and to explain appraisal decisions clearly. High attention to detail, integrity in evaluations, and sound judgment when balancing risk, cost, and market demand. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate and inspect various vehicle types. Previous experience in auto appraisal, dealership operations, auctions, or automotive reconditioning is preferred but not required.
