Billing Specialist

Responsibilities and Duties Efficiently use multiple billing software systems and web-based programs to create accurate and complete insurance claim forms for prescription medications Update patient billing information through communication with medical providers, insurance carriers and patients Document and update patient file based on interactions with insurance carriers and providers Examine HCFA 1500 to ensure accuracy and completeness (DX codes, coding, etc) Prepare insurance and medical records in accordance with detailed instructions Data entry and organization of electronic records Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma. College degree preferred. Previous experience in medical billing, customer service, or other related fields Excellent time management skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Professional phone and email etiquette Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and strong general computer skills Able to multitask and prioritize tasks Preferred Skills Background and education in prescription medication and medical terminology a plus, but not required Worker’s compensation and/or personal injury claim experience is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
