Job Description

The Stockroom Associate receives, stores, and ships materials with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and inventory control. This role supports internal and external customers by ensuring parts and materials are correctly received, organized, documented, and delivered in a timely manner. The position involves operating material-handling equipment, performing basic clerical tasks, and maintaining a clean, efficient stockroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive material from outside vendors, manufacturing, assembly, and other internal or external sources accurately and efficiently.
• Verify incoming parts and materials and ensure they match documentation and purchase orders.
• Handle, store, and stock parts and materials in the correct locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Package material for shipment to customers in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner.
• Pick, stage, and fill customer orders for both internal and external customers.
• Complete clerical duties related to receiving, stocking, shipping, and order fulfillment, including records and documentation of material movement.
• Operate power trucks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and responsibly.
• Utilize equipment, tools, and work practices that support efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and quality.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe stockroom and work areas at all times.
• Follow all company safety standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Support inventory control activities by helping monitor stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
• Perform other stockroom, shipping, receiving, and material-handling duties as assigned.

• Basic knowledge of stockroom, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling practices.
• Ability to accurately receive, stock, pick, stage, package, and move parts and materials.
• Ability to complete basic clerical tasks, records, and documentation related to material movement and order fulfillment.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment, including power trucks, hand trucks, and similar tools, in a safe manner.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to inventory accuracy and order accuracy.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and adherence to safety procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, company procedures, and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with internal departments, vendors, customers, and team members.
• Ability to maintain productivity and quality while performing repetitive or physically active work throughout the shift.
• Experience with shipping and receiving activities.
• Experience with inventory control and warehouse inventory processes.
• Ability to work in a stockroom or warehouse environment handling various materials.

• Experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, or similar inventory-focused environment.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory or enterprise resource planning systems.
• Experience with packing and order preparation for shipment.
• Experience operating forklifts or similar powered industrial trucks.
• Comfort working in an environment related to machinery manufacturing.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing environment focused on tobacco and cannabis machinery. You will work in a stockroom and warehouse setting that involves regular use of material-handling equipment such as power trucks, hand trucks, and forklifts. The position requires standing, walking, lifting, and performing physically active and repetitive tasks throughout the shift. You will operate in an environment that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with established procedures and work instructions to guide daily activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Henrico, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Henrico,VA.
