Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – 3rd ShiftLocation: Peterborough, New Hampshire Schedule: Full-Time | 3rd Shift | Three 12-Hour Shifts per WeekAbout the OpportunityLighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a respected community hospital in the Peterborough, NH area to recruit a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a full-time overnight position. This role offers an excellent work-life balance with a three 12-hour shift schedule while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care in a collaborative hospital laboratory environment.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in an independent overnight setting, and is passionate about delivering accurate, timely laboratory results.ResponsibilitiesPerform moderate and high complexity laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and proceduresAnalyze patient specimens across multiple laboratory departments, including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and Microbiology as applicableEnsure the accuracy and reliability of test results through quality control and quality assurance proceduresOperate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentationReview and verify patient results before reporting to providersMaintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and hospital regulatory standardsAccurately document testing, maintenance, quality control, and corrective actionsCommunicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory resultsAssist with specimen processing and workflow management during overnight operationsParticipate in competency assessments, continuing education, and departmental quality improvement initiativesQualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related laboratory science fieldMLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification preferred (or eligibility to obtain certification)Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred, though strong new graduates are encouraged to applyExperience working in a hospital laboratory environment is a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork skillsBenefits$30-35/hourThree 12-hour shifts per week for improved work-life balanceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)Retirement Plan with employer-sponsored optionsContinuing education and professional development opportunitiesStable, supportive hospital environment with opportunities for career growth
