Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of strong Cardiac/Tele. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino, etc.). PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio), nephrostomy tubes.

Required Credentials: Required to pass Tele tests. Associate’s Degree or Certificate.

Unit/Facility Details: Patient Population: High acuity – Tele/M/S, Cardiac heavy, (Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions. CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, dialysis. Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new-hires .

Special Requests: Will accept 48 upon request.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
