RN Registered Nurse - Neurology - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift

REGISTERED NURSE - NEUROLOGY - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT GENERAL SUMMARY: Full-Time Benefit Eligible Schedule: Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday Unit Description: Henry Ford St John Hospital's 1 East Neurology Unit is a 22 private bed Joint Commission Certified Stroke specialty intermediate care unit with telemetry capabilities. Specialized care of hemodynamically stable adult stroke patients includes patients that may require neuro-endovascular interventional and thrombolytic medication with concurrent cardiac complications. Nursing staff are skilled to administer titratable vasoactive and inotropic intravenous medications as well as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics. * Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. * Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. * Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. * Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Qualifications - External EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * BSN preferred. * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. * Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. * Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. * Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: * Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: * Prior Critical Care nursing experience.
