Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments — Hard Stop Requirement
• Circulate in the OR — Hard Stop Requirement; unit operates 4 ORs
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring — Hard Stop Requirements
• Float as needed to Postpartum and Antepartum, including potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Ability to circulate in the OR and perform newborn care including assessments, eye prophylaxis, and Vitamin K injections
• Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced L&D environments with high delivery volumes
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines
