We are looking for a hands-on Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who lives on the shop floor—not behind a desk. This role is the first line of defense for quality , ensuring every weld, fit-up, and assembly meets our standards before it ever reaches final inspection .

You will work directly with welders, fitters, and supervisors to build quality into the process , not inspect it at the end.

What You’ll Do

• Be on the floor 100% of the time , actively inspecting work in progress
• Perform in-process weld inspections (fit-up, prep, root pass, final welds)
• Verify compliance with WPS, drawings, and customer specifications
• Catch and correct issues before they become rework
• Work side-by-side with welders to coach and improve quality in real time
• Ensure proper material traceability and weld documentation
• Coordinate with the Quality Department to ensure final inspections pass the first time
• Identify recurring defects and drive root cause + corrective actions
• Support a zero-defect, no-excuses culture

What We’re Looking For

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
• Strong knowledge of AWS codes, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Experience in structural steel, pipe, or heavy fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and WPS/PQRs
• Hands-on mindset—comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong communication skills—able to hold the line on quality while building respect with the team
• Detail-oriented with a zero-tolerance mindset for defects
