Press Brake Operator (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Somerset, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire | First Shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM)
Pay: $17.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime: Available as needed
About the Role
A growing metal fabrication facility is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join its production team on a temp-to-hire basis. This position offers the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and transition into a permanent role while contributing to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain press brake machinery.
- Run production parts independently and efficiently.
- Inspect completed parts for quality and blueprint conformance.
- Load and unload metal blanks and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report production issues and updates to the Department Manager.
- Assist in other manufacturing areas as needed to support production requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating Cincinnati and/or Amada press brakes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong measuring and inspection skills.
- Ability to meet productivity goals and deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Dependable, motivated, and eager to learn.
- Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication or sheet metal production.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
