divh2Manager Of Hauling Operations/h2pThe Manager of Hauling Operations manages the assigned scope of responsibility within a line of business and/or at specific site within a market. May be assigned single or multiple depots, building facilities, expense management, operations staff to maintain and ensure safe performance and productivity metrics and processes./ppEssential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned./pulliManages the day-to-day operations of the depot(s), and provides daily support to Operations manager(s), supervisors in hauling, routing, labor planning, productivity tracking, and disposal activities./liliSupervise, train, and evaluate site personnel, including drivers, helpers, ops supervisors and dispatchers./liliDevelop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs./liliExecutes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations./liliEnsures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following up with consistent discipline and retraining and that management./liliOversees personnel needs of the depot including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions adhering to CBA where applicable./liliCommunicates with Customer Service and Sales as needed./liliParticipates in regular PL reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs./liliResponsible for conducting monthly safety meetings/ training sessions./liliSchedule regular defensive driving training sessions with safety team./liliPromote a safety before schedule mindset throughout operation./liliPerforms site inspections and addresses facility issues timely./liliEnsures quarterly random drug screens are performed./liliPerforms fleet inspections (Fleet Walk)./liliResponsible for Route Optimization./liliInteracts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts and negotiate new contracts; establishes IWS as a good corporate citizen and valued resource./li/ulpRequirements and Qualifications:/pulli7 10 years of work experience (in addition to education requirement) in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations in which coaching, routing assessments and leading employees/liliAssociates degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED (accredited) and 5 years of relevant work experience/lili3 + years of supervisory experience/liliEffectively handle employee grievances and conduct investigations/liliPrior experience in environmental services a plus/liliExperience with fleet management and heavy equipment operations./liliExperience overseeing business plans, developing and tracking budgets/liliDemonstrated ability to use a data-driven approach to decision making/liliLeadership capabilities working across a matrix organization/liliExperience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications/liliProven ability to work efficiently with minimal direct supervision/liliDemonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve results/liliProven experience meeting business commitments, driving change and implementing process improvements/liliExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills/liliStrong organizational skills and attention to detail/liliTime management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines/liliAnalytical and critical thinking skills/liliProficient with Microsoft Office suite or related software/liliMust be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather./liliProven experience in managing labor relations in a unionized environment/liliExcellent computer skills with the ability to handle multiple programs and systems./liliMust be able to communicate effectively and professionally via e-mail, telephone and 2-way devices/liliMust have desire and ability to learn the companys software applications/liliWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional holidays/li/ulpAdditional Information/ppThis job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
