Medical Assistant – Outpatient Clinic

Details regarding shifts are not specified. No scheduling requests or time-off requests will be accommodated except for one pre-approved time off.

Position will require floating to other clinics within the healthcare facility.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, with at least 1 year in an outpatient setting.
• Medical Assistant diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
• Required venipuncture skills.
• Experience with Epic charting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must provide 2 supervisor references from the past year at time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Taking vital signs and rooming patients.
• Performing phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Administering medications and nebulizer treatments.
• Obtaining 12-lead EKGs, pulse oximetry, and glucometer testing.
• Labeling specimens and collecting urine samples.
• Scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing pharmacy/refill calls.
• Reviewing labs and making follow-up calls, as well as managing supply stocking and ordering.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions or declinations. COVID-19 vaccine is not required. Background check disclosures must be made in writing, and all issues must be resolved before hire. Pre-start modules are billable, with a maximum of 12 hours required to be completed prior to starting the position.
