About the Role

We are hiring an experienced CDL Dump Truck Driver for our Harriman, Tennessee operation. In this role you will haul aggregate, asphalt, and other construction materials to and from job sites, and you will be expected to do it safely, on schedule, and with a professional attitude toward customers and crew. You will report to the Trucking Supervisor.

The work mainly supports asphalt and construction projects, so the schedule follows the job. Expect night and weekend shifts along with some daytime work, depending on what operations require.

Responsibilities

• Drive dump trucks to move aggregate, asphalt, sand, gravel, and similar materials to assigned sites
• Follow company policy, DOT regulations, customer requirements, and the safety rules specific to each project
• Inspect the truck before and after every trip and report any mechanical or safety issue right away
• Fill out Driver Daily Reports and other required paperwork accurately and on time
• Watch gauges, vehicle systems, and overall truck performance while on the road
• Operate tarp systems, dump beds, lift axles, and load securement equipment safely
• Keep the truck clean, presentable, and road-ready
• Stay in clear contact with dispatch, supervisors, job site personnel, and other drivers
• Monitor the company radio and electronic messages for dispatch instructions and schedule changes
• Make sure every load meets weight and material hauling requirements
• Drive defensively and conduct yourself professionally at all times
• Take on other tasks as needed to support trucking and construction operations

Qualifications

• Valid CDL, kept current for the duration of employment
• At least two years of commercial truck driving experience
• Experience with lift-axle or third-axle dump trucks is preferred
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
• Ability to read, write, and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Ability to complete logs, reports, and other documentation accurately
• Basic math skills, including calculating weights, loads, and measurements
• Ability to follow written, spoken, and electronic instructions
• Ability to work well with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and the public
• Reliable attendance, a strong work ethic, and a positive, safety-first attitude

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Sit for long stretches while driving
• Climb, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and walk over uneven ground on a frequent basis
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Perform repetitive motions with the hands, arms, legs, feet, neck, and upper body
• Get in and out of equipment many times per shift
• Work outside in all weather and temperature conditions
• See well at close range and at a distance, with adequate peripheral vision, depth perception, color recognition, and ability to adjust focus
• Work near moving equipment and traffic, with exposure to dust, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
• Work extended hours when the job calls for it, including nights, weekends, and shifts beyond the normal schedule
