Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Midstream Financial Analyst within our Midstream & Marketing group based in Houston, TX.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, with an emphasis on Midstream & Marketing activitiesStrong ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends in market dataConduct variance analysis compared to outlook, budget, and previous periods, and communicate key drivers to management using dashboards and visual summariesSupport monthly close activities by handling accruals, estimates, and tie-outs, ensuring results accurately reflect operational activity in accordance with accrual accounting principlesMaintain and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and work with Accounting to resolve issues promptlyDevelop, maintain, and enhance management reporting tools, including automated reports and analytics, to improve efficiency and provide deeper insightsWorking closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial data Assisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects Other duties as requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related Finance degree 3-5 years Corporate Accounting Experience or 2-3 years of experience in Public AccountingStrong analytical and communication skills Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines Prior experience in Midstream, Marketing, Energy, or Commodity-based businessesSelf-motivated and strong work ethic Ability to analyze data and reach own conclusions Exposure to forecasting, budget, outlook, or planning processesExperience with inventory valuation or commodity margin analysisIndependent thinker with the ability to problem solve Takes accountability and strives to increase results Ability to work Overtime required for monthly closing activitiesDesired Qualifications:Midstream& Marketing Oil and Gas experience/background a plus Experience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) a plusSAP & Microsoft Excel experience a plus Recruitment Fraud It has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
