Monitor Technician Telemetry- FT Days

Job Summary The Telemetry Monitor Technician observes, evaluates, reports, interprets, and records electrocardiogram (EKG) recordings for monitored patients. Provides indirect patient care to adolescents through the adult patient population. Under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or the Physician, provides age‑appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. The role of the Telemetry Monitor Technician also includes patient advocacy. An EKG Certification Exam is a condition of continued employment and must be achieved within 30 days of hire with a passing score determined by a valid and reliable testing source/program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be completed within 30 days of employment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED An EKG certification or equivalent; or in lieu of EKG Certification, Telemetry Certification, Cardiac Monitoring Certification, Arrhythmia Analysis Certification, Cardiac Sonography Certification, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certification with evidence Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be completed within 30 days of employment Requires successful completion of an EKG Interpretation Exam with a passing score as determined by the valid and reliable testing source/program used Demonstrate ability to use a computer Core Competencies Patient‑Centered Care – Demonstrates a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high‑quality care that prioritizes the well‑being and satisfaction of patients and their families.
