Direct Support Professional DSP

Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Employment Type: Part-time Location: Varies based on client needs Pay Rate: Competitive and based on experience Responsibilities: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at GHS, you will: Provide Direct Care – Assist individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support. Promote Independence – Encourage and support individuals in developing daily life skills, social skills, and self-sufficiency. Ensure Health & Safety – Monitor and assist with medication administration, follow care plans, and respond to medical or behavioral needs. Support Community Engagement – Assist individuals in participating in community activities, outings, employment, and social events. Behavioral Support – Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in individualized plans to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being. Household Responsibilities – Assist with light housekeeping, meal planning, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment. Advocacy & Empowerment – Serve as a strong advocate for individuals, ensuring their rights and choices are respected. Documentation & Communication – Maintain accurate records of daily activities, behavioral observations, and care provided. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old . Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transporting clients). Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening . Must complete required training and certification courses as assigned. Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
