Job Overview:

Compensation starts at $31.50 per hour, with our drivers earning between $70,000 and $75,000 annually, including overtime. We offer regular pay increases every six months for the first two years, followed by annual raises. Overtime is compensated for hours worked beyond 40 in a week.

Schedule Details:
One overnight shift is required weekly. We prioritize our drivers' comfort by providing hotel accommodations for overnight stays, eliminating the need for sleeper cabs, along with a per diem. After full onboarding, the frequency of overnight shifts may increase to two per week based on operational needs. Importantly, weekends are off!

Role Summary:

As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you play an essential part in maintaining the nation's food supply chain. Your responsibilities include ensuring timely and safe delivery of products to customers, while also representing our organization and building strong relationships with clients.

The Hourly CDL-A Driver is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, interstate, and overnight routes, delivering food and related products in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring all inquiries are addressed promptly. Team collaboration is key, and you will perform various duties as assigned to support the organization effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct all necessary safety inspections (pre/post trip) of the tractor/truck and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with company safety standards and reporting any issues.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
• Promptly report any safety hazards and verify that freight is loaded and secured properly.
• Perform item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
• Position the tractor at the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
• Follow predetermined delivery routes to transport customer orders, unloading products into designated storage areas.
• Inspect items for damage, scan products, and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy. Confirm deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures, collecting payments when required.
• Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors, ensuring all equipment is locked and secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork and removing trash from trailers as needed.
• Maintain a daily log of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, ensuring trailers are kept clean and organized. Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at the end of each shift.
• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A license; candidates must be at least 21 years old.
• Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
• Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Passing score on a road test.
• Possession of a valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• Capability to lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, and other tools to handle product cases weighing between 10-35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60-90 pounds, throughout the shift.
