Teacher - Special Education Emotional Disability (EDGE) Starting Date: Jul 6, 2026 Employment Type: Full-time Base Salary: $58,000 per year Special Education Stipend: Up to $5,000 prorated by FTE and start date. Performance Pay: Annual incentive up to $3,800 (details below). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s Degree Arizona Teaching Certificate Appropriately Certified Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (if required) SEI endorsement coursework completed (if required) Citizenship, residency or work visa required Core Job Functions Communicate learning goals to students in a planned, organized manner. Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population, including curriculum addressing learning styles, abilities, interests, and special needs. Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences aligned with approved curriculum and state & district standards. Use technology to enhance learning. Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs. Implement research‑based best practices in instruction. Effectively implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Establish classroom routines that promote a positive environment for instruction. Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low‑performing students. Document and resolve issues related to student behavior and attendance. Reflect on teaching and strive for professional competence improvement. Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or at school-sponsored activities. Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations. Participate in the intervention process at sites. Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences. Participate in school and district initiatives. Assume responsibilities assigned by the principal/supervisor, which may include committee work, student activities, and professional assignments. Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the district or school site. Physical Requirements Require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting. Involve finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, and vision. Possible exposure to travel, odor, dust, poor ventilation, and loud noises.
