Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Position Senior Principal Systems Engineer – on site in Aurora, CO. Location & Terms W2 hourly contract. Salary ranges from $90 to $131.50 per hour, depending on experience and benefits package. Clearance TS/SCI Clearance required. Responsibilities Elaborate capabilities and features, define system interfaces and help determine how system functional capability and performance will be validated and verified by the test team Analyze and define how the system works, creating use cases Support the execution of the integration and test program by automating test procedures and subsequent analyses Identify technical issues during software and hardware integration and collaborate with engineers to drive solutions to closure Manage the team's backlog and capacity during each program increment Support the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and execution Collaborate with program management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget Conduct investigations into system anomalies to identify root cause Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program Qualifications Required Active TS/SCI clearance Bachelor's degree in STEM field Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, concept of operations (ConOps), capability and feature elaboration, and program increment support Experience with Agile principles and/or roles such as Scrum Master/Product Owner Qualifications We Prefer Development experience in mission‑management or ground‑systems domain, especially space‑based ISR platforms Experience working in an Agile development environment and with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Groovy, Ruby) Experience building automation, developer tooling, and lifecycle reporting for large, distributed software programs Experience with test automation tools (Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave) Experience with requirements management in DOORS or other databases Strong oral and written communication, collaboration skills, and ability to work in a team environment Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate within the stated range, dependent on education, experience, interview results, and skill level.
