Floor Associate

Western Building Center: Floor Associate:  

Position Summary:

In this role you will be helping to put out freight and keeping your assigned area clean and organized. Customer service is vital in this position. Having a positive attitude and assisting customers with their shopping needs on the sales floor.

Shift: Day shift, all seasons - Saturday’s required 

Position Expectations:

• Help to put out freight.

• Facing shelves and notifying purchasing agents if you notice a stock item getting low. 

• Dusting and cleaning shelving units. 

• Helping with inventory. 

• Sweeping, mopping, and making sure there are no slip or tripping hazards on the floors. 

• Helping to maintain clean restrooms. 

• Each evening taking out the garbage as needed both inside and out.

• Outside work depending on the season could include mowing, weed eating, snow shoveling, spreading salt on walkways, and helping keep the store grounds free of trash debris. 

• Maintaining the break room by wiping down the counters and tables. 

• Helping answer questions for customers or directing them to the right person if you don’t know the answer.

• Learning the LiftOff system to help ring up customers as needed. 

• Greeting customers as you come across them within the store.

• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Electrical and Plumbing knowledge would be great

Qualifications:

• Good communication skills written, verbal, and over the phone. 

• Proficient computer skills. 

• Safety minded with a focus on our company’s safety and health regulations. 

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, walking on concrete for extended periods of time, bending, and twisting.
