Tier 3 Specialized Maintenance - Electrician

Job Description Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026 Position Summary: The Specialized Maintenance Tier 3 Electrician supports the educational process by providing specialized maintenance services, completing assigned work orders, performing general maintenance activities, and ensuring tools and materials are available at the job site. Compensation: $55,096 – $80,056 (Full‑time, parallel years of experience). This is a full‑time classified position eligible for benefits. Essential Functions Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment. Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Install and maintain lighting systems, breakers, panels, conduit, switches, and motors. Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and local/state regulations. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical distribution systems and backup power equipment. Respond to electrical outages and emergency repair situations. Respond to work orders in a timely manner. Coordinate with outside contractors and other trades to complete projects on schedule. Report procedures and status of work orders to supervisors and administrative personnel. Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition. Prepare written materials (e.g., job completion status, activity logs) for documentation and cost reporting. Repair and maintain equipment and systems to ensure a safe working condition. Communicate effectively with team members and staff. Perform general maintenance throughout the district. Assist with snow removal to maintain access and safety. Other Functions Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills: Proficiency in skilled maintenance involving carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades; use of hand and power tools; operation of equipment such as saws, drill presses, sanders, jack hammers, drills, sandblasters, forklifts, motor vehicles, office equipment, and smart cell phone applications. Knowledge: Ability to perform algebra/geometry, read technical information, compose documents, facilitate discussions; knowledge of trade methods, health and safety regulations, proper storage of equipment, and maintenance of school buildings. Ability: Schedule activities, gather and collate data, operate job‑related equipment; work effectively with diverse individuals; problem‑solve and develop action plans; follow oral and written directions; maintain routine records. Experience: Job‑related experience within the specialized field. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
