Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days & Nights Available (3x12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and initiation and maintenance of IVs, including IV vasopressors
• Manage and monitor patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator support
• Care for patients presenting with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, cardiac dysrhythmias, and orthopedic trauma
• Conduct triage and implement appropriate isolation precautions
• Utilize specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment; float within skillset as required

Required Qualifications

• Active New York single-state RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS must be included at submission)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records — hard requirement
• Demonstrated clinical skills in emergency care, cardiac monitoring, and neurological/trauma patient populations
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume adult emergency department including exposure to gunshot wounds and pediatric emergency cases
• Familiarity with pediatric spinal cord injury care and crisis intervention patient populations
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
