Mobile Swallow Study Support Technician

Job Description

Job Description

Digital Diagnostic Solutions brings modified barium swallow studies directly to patients at nursing homes, rehab centers, other facilities, and patients' homes, so they don't have to travel to a hospital. We're looking for a dependable, kind contractor to keep our mobile unit running and work alongside our speech-language pathologist during studies.

What the work involves

• Drive our mobile imaging vehicle (equipped with a wheelchair lift) to facilities and patient homes within 120 miles of Tulsa, starting and ending at our Tulsa-area storage facility
• Start-of-day equipment checks: generators, computer, recording system, and X-ray startup
• Escort patients by wheelchair to and from our unit, from their room at facilities or from the front door at home visits, using our wheelchair lift safety procedures
• Position patients for imaging and set up food and liquid trials during studies
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen level)
• Keep the unit clean, sanitized, and stocked
• Coordinate with facility staff and family caregivers to keep studies on schedule
• Follow HIPAA, infection control, and radiation safety procedures

Facility staff or the patient's caregiver handle all patient transfers. At home visits, the caregiver brings the patient to the front door in their wheelchair. This role pushes wheelchairs; it does NOT lift patients.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Current CPR/BLS certification, maintained by you
• Patience and warmth with elderly patients, including those with limited mobility or memory loss
• Able to push wheelchairs, stand and walk for long periods, and work in hot and cold conditions
• Comfortable with long driving days; some routes cover up to 2+ hours each way
• Comfortable troubleshooting basic tech and equipment
• Must pass a background check, drug screen, and driving record check
• Availability for route days as scheduled; day length and frequency vary with facility and patient demand

Nice to have

• EMT, CNA, medical assistant, or patient transport experience
• Experience with generators or mechanical equipment

What DDS provides

• Guaranteed pay for 20 hours each week, regardless of schedule
• Orientation to our equipment, safety, and HIPAA procedures
• Radiation protection gear and monitoring

No X-ray certification required.
